Minnesota Software development CodeWeavers has issued a challenge to President Bush, and they're putting their money where their mouth is.
I think this is fantastic, although I don't hold out much hope for Bush coming through on any of these goals. Let's take them one at a time, shall we?The CodeWeavers Lame Duck Presidential Challenge, which CodeWeavers launches today, will make its software products downloadable for free for 24 hours at www.CodeWeavers.com if President Bush accomplishes at least one of the following goals:
- Reduce gas prices
- Reduce food prices
- Create more jobs
- Rejuvenate the housing market
- Bring Osama Bin-Laden to justice
Details on these goals and the challenge can be found at lameduck.codeweavers.com.
- We already saw earlier today that the Republicans' oil plan is worthless.
- A reduction in food prices is unlikely without a reduction in energy prices.
- After two recession and a "jobless recovery," Bush has made it pretty clear that he can't be trusted to oversee the economy
- Actually, I don't think this one is entirely Bush's fault, but there are still months to go before the housing market clears up.
- Clearly he doesn't care. It sounds horrible, I know. But Bush let Bin-Laden go because he wanted to have a war in Iraq, and I don't believe he is even looking particularly hard.
